Players in the Band

One of the things I’ve learned over the years is that I’m not in charge of any of the sessions I facilitate, group or personal. I’m simply the conduit that transmits the energy. Sometimes my lower mind gets to be entertained with an understanding of what we’re doing and what it means, and a lot of times it doesn’t.

When I decided to offer the first group session, I was surprised that a title for it dropped in. And even though I wasn’t sure exactly what the title meant, I could feel the session starting to form in the field. I decided to trust it and that seems to be working out. I still get a little grippy at the start of each session because it feels like I’m back in middle school band, having to sight-read music in front of an audience (I played clarinet, then tuba, and finally bass clarinet in case you were wondering). But, like with sight-reading, once I get a feel for the energy work, it becomes easy to follow the melody and play the parts. By the end of each session, even if I still don’t mentally understand, I know and feel the energetic harmony of the piece we co-created. It’s been an interesting way to work, and I keep being delightfully surprised at the songs Spirit is creating with us through each of these topics.

When “Commitment” dropped in for March, I added it to my calendar and forgot about it. As I was sitting down to send the invite, I started wondering about what it will look like. An understanding dropped in, and it feels important to share. And it’s funny because the band reference seemed like a random funny (to me) quip (did sight-reading terrify anyone else? lol) but now I’m actually seeing each person in the group session as a member of the band. There’s a fun variety of instruments, and each person learns their part during the session. As they move out into the world, they play their song for all to feel and hear and experience.

This session about commitment feels like an invitation to the World Servers, the Way Showers, and those who are doing their best to hold steady the light. It feels like support as each one of us navigates the complexity of the rhythmic pattern changes in the song we’re all here sight-reading. This is about our commitment to being the fullness of who we are (Spirit in form), so that whatever instrument we choose to play for the world, we do so clearly and with confidence and fun and love. And as we commit to the fullness of Self, we hold steady in our commitment to our Plan and Purpose as players in the planetary band.

Thank you to each one of you who keep showing up for practice. It is an honor and privilege to be part of the band with you.

If you don’t yet have a ticket for the Commitment group session, you can get it here
